Body Building and Weight Gain

in Body Building

Body builders lose a considerable portion of their weight once they get involved in exercise. After achieving your goal in body building, you may feel the need to replenish your lost weight and there are a few things you should know as you are about to do that.

  • First you will want to change your diet. Start on meals that have a high concentration of carbohydrates like whole meal, cereal and brown bread. These are essentially converted to good fat which will be stored in your body. Also start on a protein rich diet that may include lean meat chicken, fish, nuts and seeds to maintain a consistent weight gain.
  • Fruits should also be included in your diet for fibre and carbohydrates. Greasy food is not recommended as it will wipe away all the hard work you put into body building. You can also supplement your diet with multi-vitamins and essential fats like omega 3.
  • Engage in activities like cycling, jogging, hiking and even walking. Even if you intend to gain weight it is important to engage your body in tiresome activities to burn off extra fat and keep your body in good shape.
  • It is also important to always keep yourself hydrated in body building and weight gain. Water maintains the natural balance of salts in your body and helps to get rid of toxins so drink as much water as possible.
  • You will also have to change the way you have your meals in that instead of having three heavy meals a day, opt for five or six light meals spread throughout the day.
