Protein Pills

in Medication Weight Gain

Whenever weightlifters feel like adding more muscle, they go for proteins basically because the muscles are made of protein. It is also used to repair worn out tissue in our bodies and since the body cannot produce its own protein, we have to find it from outside. Protein can be found in meat like steak, fish and chicken, but for vegetarians and those of us who try and avoid the calories in meat, protein supplements are the answer. Protein can be in powdered, liquid, bar and pill form and here I would like to concentrate on protein pills.

  • Most protein pills are made from original sources of protein like beef, whey or beef liver which is processed and ground to fine form enough to fit into a capsule.
  • Other protein pills are synthetic and are manufactured from artificial amino acids which are chemically combined to form a precipitate of protein which is then converted to protein pills.
  • Our daily diets may not allow us to consume the required daily amount of protein and this is where protein pills come in handy. They are to be taken assupplements together with meals, and the FDA recommends it be 0.36 grams of protein per pound of body weight.
  • Bodybuilders may however take higher doses of protein pills, but it is important you consult your physician if you intend to exceed the recommended dosage.
  • Protein pills are often taken before or after workouts and are considered useful in maintaining healthy hair especially by the ladies.
