in Health and Weight Gain

There are many women who complain that their hips and thighs are too fat. Accordingly, they are always looking for ways to shed a few pounds. The try different diets and join gyms. However, they are unable to lose the fat in the thighs and hips because they do not follow through with the diet or the training program.

There are numerous reasons why women gain weight on their hips and thighs.

  • One has to do with the fact that thy do not eat right. Instead of eating healthy foods rich in vital nutrients, they eat processed and refined that are high in the sugar content. The body turns sugar into fat and stores it in the hips and thighs.
  • Another reason is that thy fail to exercise. Exercises help to burn fat and leave the muscles properly toned. It is important that you understand that if you are consuming more energy than you are using up, you will grow fat.

Women unlike men store the fat in their body in the thighs and hips. There are two main reasons for this.

  • One, it is nature’s way of protecting the reproductive organs. However, this changes with the onset of menopause. Post menopausal women unlike their younger counterparts gain weight on their tummies and not the hips or thighs.
  • Genetic predisposition is yet another reason why women gain weight in their thighs and hips. You are more likely to store fat in your thighs and hips, if it is the same case with other women in your family.
