If you are looking to gain weight and build muscle, you need the help of a solid training program. A weight gain training program will help you build muscles effectively.
There are two crucial weight gain training philosophies
- High intensity training
This requires that you work out at least 1 to 3 times every week. The exercises involved here are short. However, they are also very intense. The aim of high intensity training is to help you increase your strength.
- Periodization
In this type of training program, you are required to engage in light training for not more than three weeks. You should then shift to medium training and finally to heavy training. This program does not place emphasis on you achieving gains after each work out. Instead it focuses on the cumulative gains achieved once the three phrases have been completed.
But while weight training programs are important, you should understand that they are not as effective by themselves. In order to gain weight effectively, you need to not only eat and train but also get enough sleep and rest.
- You do not need to be told that you will be unable to train effectively if you do not eat well. Eating well ensures that you have the energy to work out every day. You should ensure that all your meals consist of carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins.
- Sleep and rest leaves you refreshed. You should get at least eight hours of sleep every day. Remember, you will not gain any weight unless you maintain consistency in your training program.
