Weight gain supplements that contain whey protein must be avoided by those who are hypersensitive to milk or other milk products. This is because supplements containing whey protein may have side effects such as itching, facial swelling, itching in throat, diarrhea and even vomiting.
Some weight gainers may even cause blood sugar levels to drop in a person and hence this too is one of the side effects of these dietary supplements.
Another harmful effect of a weight gain supplement is that it may cause bleeding which may even become heavy in some cases.
Most of the weight gain supplements contain whey protein and this may even result in causing low blood pressure in people. This too is a serious side effect of such supplements.
Weight gain supplements can even cause various types of reactions such as changes in bowel movements, cramps, thirst, nausea, diarrhea, skin reactions, reduced appetite, swelling in legs and arms and even headaches and other disabilities.
Weight gain supplements must not be taken by pregnant women and breastfeeding women as it may not be suitable for them and cause side effects.
Other side effects include liver and kidney damage etc.
